Your Stress

You can never really rid yourself of stress completely. My dad used to say people are either IN a problem, at the END of a problem, or about to go INTO a problem. He wasn't being cynical, it's just a reality reminder when I thought life wasn't fair. Managing stress is almost like a fine art. What is your biggest stress right now? I keep thinking of that hymn that says, "I cast all my cares upon You. I lay all of my burdens down at Your feet. And any time I don't know what to do, I just cast all my cares upon You."

I try to do just that. Lately thanks to a landlord failing to pay the mortgage I was facing being made homeless. I really had to work at laying it all at Jesus'feet. It waa fine. The landlord has sorted things out. I could have become very stressed.

Your Dad is right about that. I think that we all have our own stressors in our lives, nobody is without stress, and mine is not any worse than anyone else's.

If you get rid of all of your problems it is not long before you get some new ones.

Yes stress is something you need to learn to handle. You need to learn how to manage stress.

I manage it pretty well. I started the discussion based on a conversation I had with someone else. It isn't about me.

I think your dad was very wise. There is always something going on in our lives even if it's not something huge.

As usual, my biggest stress at the minute, is that one of my girls is upset. I think your Dad was right but it's how we deal with the problems that help us become less stressed by them.

You dad said it right. He was really a wise person. Right now my biggest stress is my mum's health and my financial situation.

I don't think he was talking about stress, but it's great that you don't have any. Hopefully, you're not about to get any.

I've not heard that particular song before, but, I do know it helps lift the burdens when we can sing praises instead. I agree that we can't get rid of stress, but we can learn to quit worrying about everything and then some. Right now, I'd say not having enough work for myself and my employees. We're in a sort of work slump where our customers want to wait another month or so before having us come over. We've had a few weeks before when it's been slow, but we've had it like this about a month now. We do have work, just not as much as would be normal for the summer months. And it doesn't help that my knee has been bothersome, more than normal. That song is from the verse in Philippians 4:6 I believe it is without looking.
