Have you ever been told at work that tomorrow or next week you are going to be extremely busy, but when that time comes your still not busy? My boss told me yesterday to be ready because she had a ton of work for me today. I have now been at work for an hour and haven't done anything. So I deiced that until she actually needs me I will be on myLot or doing homework. I actually hate coming to work and not having anything to do, so might as well fine something for myself.

I know there not, but I don't like just sitting. I am a very organized schedule kind of person and when I expect to be busy but then I'm not I get kind of disappointed. I much rather be working then just sitting.

I prefer heavy workload than doing nothing at work.

I don't mind a heavy work load I actually love to work and I learn fast so I can do most things pretty quickly, but then again my parents actually taught me how to work and earn things.

@CaseyRoss9966 Yes, I worked as a school teacher; and we were told that for some two days there is going to be an inspection that never happened. We had to make unnecessary arrangements and prepare files of no uttility. Seems like some sort of universal things bosses do. :-)

Back to work again for a 12 hour shift with about a 2 hour train ride. Life is great.

You could always come help me with my work! I am often so overwhelmed with assignments and deadlines that it makes it difficult to get anything done! I will gladly delegate some tasks to you! That way, you're able to keep busy, and I can get more accomplished! lol

That happens at my work sometimes too. So whenever I have nothing else to do I get on here. It helps pass the time. It seems though when it does it busy it is just crazy and not enough hours in the day. Hope it gets busy for you soon.

Depends on the volumes of work you may have.. it isn't always easy to anticipate them accurately. Sometimes you may predict the busiest days of the week for instance - as is the case in customer care, where people's calls tend to come according to certain time patterns. However, you may get that unexpected call to ruin your day, or if you are lucky you may get a near-vacation day in an otherwise busy time of the year. Good luck with your work!

I am an office assistant for the alumni house of my college, so the work is very predictable since they handle things like homecoming, reunions, class agent day, president's circle meetings, or alumni meetings that have always been and always will be held on the same day every year. I believe my boss is just a lot slower worker than she thinks she is. Not to mention she was at the president's circle meeting last night and had a little too much to drink.

@CaseyRoss9966 You made a pretty good point on this one. It happens often especially with more senior people, that their work may take far longer to complete than that of their younger colleagues. Though sometimes what you lose in personal speed may be compensated by the lengthy years of practice..
