This post is inspired by @JudyEv. Thank you.
She had posted a discussion on installation art which she saw on her travels.
I suppose its an attempt at making the place attractive and giving it a distinct character.
Statues of famous personalities are common. I've seen sand sculptures where places are besides beaches. And pavement pictures.
Today, while sitting in a bus, I noticed that the nearby walls were covered with drawings. A simple picture but it captures the essence of the city nonetheless.
The huge river in floods, buffaloes, clumps of bamboos, its all there. Throughout my bus ride I enjoyed the other sketches and drawings on the various walls .
What kind of street art do you have in your place?

Sand arts here are usually made during the winter when the river recedes

@responsiveme I live near a university area; current social issues like women security, anti smoking capaigns, health awareness and other topics of social significance are portrayed by paintngs on street walls. :-)

I don't have street art near me. I love street art, though, as long as it isn't something that's offensive.

In some cities murals are commissioned and add an interesting focal point of a local statement on a huge wall- often commercial. I love to see them!

@responsiveme Oops, I'm sorry. I direct my compliments to India's cultural and educational wealth and intelligence. I'm speaking truth. Thank you for being gracious toward me, nevertheless. :-)

@responsiveme could it be. And I think sometimes they convey messages to remind its people what are forgotten.

@responsiveme They paint lovely pictures on the sides of box cars. I love seeing the art when we have to stop at a crossing to wait for a train go by.
