A quick solution to my laptop's water damage

Here's an update on my computer dilemma from last week for you I haven't gotten it repaired or replaced yet. It should be resolved over Labor Day Weekend. I've talked to my father last week, who suggested to go to BestBuy's Geek Squad, and see if they had a cheaper rate. My cousin mentioned to buy external speakers and plug it for my speaker damage issue. When I mentioned it to my brother yesterday afternoon on the phone, he suggested a headset. I don't have a headset or speakers. I did for my Ipod, which I had lost in transition of my move, two years ago. So he's going to see if he has external speakers or a headset from work or from home. If not, we'll go to Target and pick it up. This will save me some money, until I have enough (even from Upwork) to buy a new one or get it replaced somewhere down the road. I'm content and have gotten used to my external keyboard now. I'll let you know what happens next week.

I honestly prefered the external keyboard once I got used to it, since a laptop is rarely a full sized keyboard and then I could get one that has buttons that glow so easier to see keys in lower lighting

That sounds cool. I would've preferred that. This has a blue light for caps lock. But it's just plain black. Nothing special. Maybe in a future, sure.

@KristenH amazon has some great glow in the dark ones, some are for gaming and more expensive, but I know they have cheaper normal ones that glow. I keep the lights on really low in here to deal with glare so the keys glowing is a huge deal.

@Jessicalynnt I would have to keep it in mind when I have enough Amazon money someday.

I'm glad you were able to find a workaround alternate fix for this. I'd hate to have to buy a new laptop right now.

Wow. I hope the temporary fixes work for you. I don't have much savings now if I had to replace a computer. I'm trying to save for a nice new bed. Good luck with all this!

Thanks Sue. Good luck on the new bed. That's why I'm saving and doing freelance work just in case I need to one day.

I hope it all works out for you. A headset sounds like a good idea. I have one I use if I am on the computer and my brother is asleep. That way I don't wake him up.

I am a little bit. But with low funds, I would have to wait a long while to buy a new one or get it repaired.

I hope you come up with a solution. I remember one when we moved my youngest who is now 7 I think she might have been about 3 at the time Decided that phone need to be cleaned too and dropped it in the mop water that I was using. Luckily it was a cheap phone but still I hate replacing stuff.

Me too, Winter. This is the most sensible and cheapest solution for the time being. I can afford speakers or a headset, maybe both if on sale.

No volume? Not really. But for the rest of my keys, it is. Only power and the mouse works, when the rest don't.
