Autoimmune disorder. So my son is 14 yrs old. Has been feeling very tired and lots of great symptoms. His thyroid ultrasound shows enlarged thyroid ,which can mean thyroid dysfunction. Well we took him to an endocrinologist, which is a thyroid doctor. She says all his thyroid level are normal but he has AB antibodies high which attack his thyroids. But we need check every 3 months labs. Now i am not a doctor . Do you have this problem? If so who do I take him to see?

An autoimmune disorder is when the body's immune system tries to destroy part of the body. It does not recognize it as belonging there so tries to get rid of it. Some autoimmune diseases are arthritis, lupus, and Sjogren's Disease. I don't know what is going on with your boy. You should ask the doctor to explain it to you. I'm sorry you have to deal with this and wish you the best of luck.

thanks Joann . Are you a doctor? The doctor is ignoring the problem.

@joann123 No, I'm not a doctor. I am just interested in medical stuff. I know people with autoimmune conditions. I think the doctor does not know what is happening with your son. I hope you find someone who will follow up and treat the problem.

I don't know what it is but it sound as if he might go on medications at some point. You can look it up at Mayoclinic.com.

I've heard of autoimmune disorder, but not really sure what it means. Hopefully they can figure out how to make him feel better.
