My name is Joncarla and it was my father who named me. From where I am from, this isn't a regular name. I remember whenever it's the first day of school. Teachers would normally struggle to read my name, ask if they pronounced it correctly or guess how my parents came up with it. They usually think it's a combo of my parent's name: Jon + Carla = Joncarla. Wrong. I have three sisters who are older than me. Everyone's name starts with ''J'' because that's the first letter in my dad's name. Hopeful that his youngest would be a 'he' my dad chooses a name: John Carlo. Ultrasound wasn't a thing in '88. He held on to this name with no plan B. And so I was born (hopefully not to his disappointment) a female. He had to make last minute alterations before signing the birth certificate and came up with Joncarla. :) I love it coz it's unique though it kind of cost some money and time correcting copies of my other legal certificates -- but that's another discussion. So how were you named? Does it mean anything? Share them below!
