Bad Comments

I have noticed this a lot on mylot, youtube, 9gag and many other places. I have noticed that people put on negative comments. Most of the time they are just showing the superiority complex of how much they know more than the other.
Also the way they make comments is meant to hurt people. What they achieve out of this is puzzling.
I wonder do they get paid for being negative towards other people on the internet. Is their full time job of hurting people and putting them down?
It's been a while since people have made constructive criticism mostly on internet all you find is negative ranting.
Have you came across such people who create only bad commenting on others post?

I see many comments in many places - YouTube and media sites, especially - which are racist, discriminatory, trolling or clearly intended to shock or hurt Thankfully, such comments are rare here and the Community Guidelines clearly state that they are specifically not tolerated and will be dealt with severely when they are found. It is up to individual members to report anything like this that they find so that Admin may deal with them appropriately.
I don't think that anyone is paid (as a job) to post this kind of thing. There are negative people and trolls everywhere, even in the 'real world', but they seem to thrive on the anonymity the Internet tends to offer.

Mylot at least punish cyber bullies and delete their post. On Youtube and Twitter, Racist comments are immortalized. Also we now have a rule where if you made a discussion that attacks a member even if its done anonymously, their post will be deleted and if they dont change they will get banned.

@skysnap People can even say they were not being rude but they were blindly being rude. I also avoid people who beats around the bushes. talking to them is a waste of time. I don't read Youtube comments because the people there are savages with keyboard.

Thankfully, most mylot users aren't like what you've described but yes, I also have seen sooo many negative, abusive comments made online. :)

On other sites then yes.
On mylot no.
This is a discussion site so if someone puts up an opinion there is a chance it may get responses/comments that disagree with them.
People on here seem to me too quick to take offence at something...you're on a discussion site ffs
I'd actually like a section of mylot for controversial topics where those of us that want to debate, or even argue within reason, can go so as not to offend the thin skinned among us
As you may have gathered I'm getting a bit miffed with being blocked all over the place just for stating an opinion in a polite way...people just don't seem to like being disagreed with so spit the dummy and block me

that's odd. polite opinion getting blocked means people are too sensitive. however comments on youtube and 9gag which are purely negative in nature should be blocked instead. because on youtube and 9gag, you don't find constructive criticism, it's either personal attack or "thank you"

@skysnap yes, I've seen a lot of abusive stuff on youtube.
PS...I think I've asked before but were you the person that suggested a couple of VPN sites I could use?
If so could you tell me them again please?
If it wasn't you...sorry for my stupid

The anonymity of the internet, and the distance separating people, often makes them willing to make comments that they wouldn't face to face. In a novel and a recent film, hackers link these anonymous comments and usernames to the actual people, which has an effect on them.

I seldom experience it here in Mylot but in other sites especially facebook, a lot of people post there just for the sake of being mean. Just look at different celebrities' facebook pages, almost everyone has a mean comment written there. I know we have this right to freedom of expression but still if you can't say it face to face to someone then don't also say it via the internet. I do not know why people would choose to be mean. Maybe they are insecure or are just plain stupid.

I have often thought if I posted on YouTube, I would disable comments. There is so much rudeness there, so much arrogance just because one person has different taste than another. Ugh. Yeh I see it all the time.

Sometimes I wonder what is bad? I'm sure there are bad and good comments but perspective and writing style have a lot to do with it. We all are not good writers. For example if I share my knowledge is that bragging and telling others how much better I am? Like that. What do you think @Shiva49

I hope that's not true on MyLot, I'm new around here. I have a lot of questions and hope people discuss them with me rationally.

I've not seen any on mylot yet but I've seen a lot of hate comments on YouTube. That's seriously so bad, you're basically demoralizing that person
