Does keeping coins in a bamboo plant increases fertility of the plant?

Many people keep small stones or metal coins in the glass container where they have bamboo plants.
The metal coins mix with the water and helps the roots grow.
But I am not sure whether the coins have any role to play relating to enhancing the fertility of the plant. Is there any role?

I've not heard of coins but we have rocks so the bamboo didn't tip over and for decor

I bought it by online sales. In the case it was written. I dont know the science of it.
