I want to know the meaning of OTAKU. The man in the training center said that I am an OTAKU when he knew that I love anime. He also watched anime. I watched anime series like Monster anime, Naruto, Chobits, Special A, Getbackers, Voltes V and—its many to mention—haha. I was surprised when he called my name and said, “I heard that you are watching anime. I watch anime too. We are OTAKU.”
Huh?—Hehehe—All I know OTAKU means obsessed on something? I forgot the real meaning of OTAKU in Japan but, I do not know the meaning of OTAKU outside Japan. He said, OTAKU—We are OTAKU and I did not even know what OTAKU means for people who watch anime.

Otaku is Japan's derogatory term for some geek who is obsessed with Anime and games. In the western society it is a term for anime fans. Then there is the Weaboo.
Many Otakus and Weaboo will murder you if you said anime is cartoons.

Does Otaku in outside Japan derogatory too? Haha—or they are so proud being called Otaku?—hehe. I have noticed that some people claimed themselves as Otaku and they are so proud of it.

Oh I see. Haha. So the person is Otaku if he knows a lot of anime. Well let me see—I just love watching anime. I love the Japan song from anime and that is all. I am not sure if I am Otaku, but I have watched many anime already. I have forgotten to watch any live action series—wahahaha—oopps.
