My Fitness Plan

I've just started the 'Couch to 5k' fitness plan, which aims to get people off the couch and running in 9 weeks. So far I've only done one week, but it's going quite well. For the first week you alternate a series of 90 second brisk walks with 60 second runs over a half hour period. By the 9th week I should be able to run constantly for 30 minutes.
I'm not overweight, but I do think it's time I focused on my physical fitness. I'm someone who spends huge amounts of mental energy each day - I always seem to be over-analyzing things -- and I think I need a better balance between physical and mental activity.
The only problem is that I've been running in the fields behind where we live and you get a lot of dogs off the lead and they sometimes scamper over to me when I'm running. I feel a bit mean not being able to stop and stroke them, but I have to keep running!
Has anyone else done this kind of fitness programme? What do you find are the best ways to stay fit?

I've been saying for weeks, maybe a few months time I got more active again. I'm not overweight either but I have put a little on and it needs to come off, don't like it. The other day I bought some new shoes and went for just over a 2 miles jog. Some years ago I did a long of running. I hope to go again tomorrow or Sunday, tomorrow would be good, but I'll see yet.

I run up and down the stairs at work and go on a stationary bike at home. Good for your leg muscles.
