Hermine Was Kind To Us

Hermine may have buffered us a bit but as for us personally it didn't break our spirit. We live in Central Florida and were expecting sort of a big blow from her but we and our neighbors dodged the bullet.
We were fortunate that we received the rain in our area that we needed but not so much that we were ankle deep in sludge.
We had a little damage going on but nothing earthshaking. Here in my home we were very lucky, nothing was damaged or lost. My sister-in-law and mother each lost a tree. The one at my mothers took down the corner of an empty storage shed.
So, today the hubby will be out and about with armed with a chain saw doing what he can do to get things back to what they should be.
All and all, we were lucky. It is cloudy and gloomy today and we will most like experience rain but there is a sun just waiting to come out again.

Good that it left you unharmed. We had a mini tornado last year - localised to a very limited area and we got it good and proper. Handled it quite well and even saw some benefits out of it.

@HazySue The trees that got chopped made it easy for us to hand pick the fruits. It is hard to get someone to climb trees. The tank that fell off prompted us to raise the level of the other tank that meant more pressure all over.

Glad you only received minor damage. I am going to call my step dad today see if he is ok as he's down in Florida for a wedding. It's scary with any hurricane approaching. We been getting winds and cold weather but no rain yet.

@Blondie2222 hope dad is ok. I can take the winds as long as they aren't knocking things down, and I welcome the cooler weather, the rain is something many of us need but not so much that we have to row down the street.

Nothing major happened here either and I am very grateful for that. We just got the much needed rain. =) Glad y'all didn't get anything too awful either.

Glad to hear your area got through okay. I know storms like that leave a horrible mess. I guess there were still plenty of people rebuilding from Hurricane Sandy.

@CinnamonGrl hurricanes can really do some damage. A few years ago we really got hit, it caused a whole lot of damage, money, and work to recover. As I said, Hermine was kind to us.

It was good to hear that you and your family are ok. In the news, they say it would be the 1st since 2005 that a Hurricane would have landfall in Florida so you are indeed lucky that there were not a lot of damage done there. I hope for everyone's safety in Florida and the rest of eastern seaboard.

@lealuvy2j It has been a while since a hurricane hit landfall here. I hope it is another long while before it does it again.

@AbbyGreenhill it surprised me too. They seemed to be more worried about Florida for a while.
