What is your favourite TV dinner?

Tonight is the launch show for this year's Strictly Come Dancing, a show avidly watched by me and my two daughters. It's always a good excuse to sit down to a really good meal in front of the TV. Tonight we're going to be having some homemade Indian dishes. I will be serving butter chicken with Tarka dal and some warm naan bread. My husband is away at a conference so it's going to be a girls' night for us. We'll need to make sure we keep up our running next week to burn off the calories. What do you like to eat when you're watching TV?

I like munching potato chips when in front of the TV. I particularly like Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream flavor. Throw in some Cheetos also and I'm already in heaven.

Me too. I am trying to not buy them as I just cannot stop once the packet is open.

Wow, just about anything. I'd say pizza, delivered by Mountain Mike's or Round Table is my favorite to eat while I'm watching TV.

Last year at the launch show did you eat mutton dressed as lamb? My Judy Murray joke- sorry. Your dinner sounds really great. We dont eat infront of the telly. New house rule my wife put in place after I spilled a plate of homemade soup on the new sofa. Rangers scored against Celtic and I forgot the bowl was in my hand. Cmon the Gers!!

Poor old Judy (not that she is that old. I do think the Strictly wardrobe department are clueless at styling the older woman. They put Carol Kirkwood in some dreadful outfits last year and yet she always looks very attractive when she's presenting the weather) Your experience with the soup on the sofa reminds me of a time when my husband managed to spill a cup of milky coffee over the carpet whilst watching an England World Cup game. He waited until the match was over before cleaning it up, by which time the milk had seeped into the carpet and the stench remained for weeks. I was not impressed, especially as he thought I was being most unreasonable by thinking he could multi-task when a football match was on.

@saulgoodman He still has faith in them. I'm the one who lost interest in them years ago.

When I read TV dinner I think of a frozen dinner by Banquet or Stouffers etc. Any dinner is good for me in front of the TV.....we try NOT to come eat in the living room as the dinner table is family time, even if it's just hubby and I home we try to eat at the table (but we do sometimes sit so we can see the TV and turn the volume up if we were already into a show that was on.)

Not familiar with that show-is it similar to Dancing with the Stars?

Yes, that's right. It's the UK version of Dancing with the Stars

Lamb rogan josh and pilau rice (Tesco, Sainsbury's or Waitrose), maybe a side dish, such as Bombay potatoes, plain naans, bit of lime pickle and mango chutney. Oh yes!

Apart from the fact that it needs to be relatively easy to eat I don't mind. We ate at an Indian restaurant on Friday night and enjoyed it.

Anything light and easy, like chips, which doesn't require a lot of effort to cut and eat, so that I can enjoy my show.
