Irony is, to feel lonely we need another person in our life..lol. If we don't, we are still fine. Only one that person we have in our life does not give due attention to us, we feel lonely. But why do we give others so much importance at all. God is more permanent.

@Shiva49 .. True...and we also love some more than the others, but unless we maintain things in perspective it can be extremely shocking. Focusing only on one person, I mean...loving parents, children, spouses, grandchildren, siblings, and friends...somehow it balances things...but if a person was to love only one person...it can be very shocking if there is loss, or neglect.

Being an only child, I am used to being alone and treasure that time. Not married, no children, only an elderly mother so you could say I am doomed.

No you are not...you can still find somebody...if that is what you like. I am an only child, I am also used to being alone and I also "treasure" that time. I also have an elderly parent who is 83 years old now...losing him does scare me. But I tell me, if he goes he and mom will prepare a nice home for me to land into up there.

@JohnRoberts .. being alone does not make you 'doomed' .. I know a few people who are happy and content with being single with no children .. and I know of some people who are married with children yet they are the most unhappy people ..

No, I am definitely not afraid of being alone. I am alone with my two dogs every day during the week until my brother comes home. There are times he goes out with friends at night or goes out of town and I am okay being alone.
