Have You Ever Been To A Circus?

I read that the first Ringling Brothers circus was held in Baraboo, Wisconsin and that's where the circus makes it's winter home.
I have been to the circus a few times, as a child, many years ago.
The Ringling Circus comes to the Richmond, Virginia coliseum from time to time. I have seen it advertised here many times on TV.
In recent years, however, there has been a lot of persons who have objected to the treatment of circus animals and so most circuses have discontinued the use of elephants and big cats.
And I agree with them. I don’t think that animals should be caged and I definitely object to their being mistreated in any way.
I follow a site on Instagram called Black Jaguar White Tiger. This is an organization that rescues big cats and other animals from circuses and other places. Have you ever seen any of their videos? It’s an amazing organization and they are to be congratulated on their efforts to save these big cats, especially.
These cats are so beautiful and they deserve to be loved and protected. Their habitat is shrinking at amazing rates and they are all endangered species.
What do you think?

I agree 100% @IreneVincent . It's sad that even zoos have to exist because 'humans' (and I use that term loosely), can't seem to stop their own population explosion; so therefore, we destroy and intrude on the animal populations habitat. 7.2 BILLION people on this planet; that is ridiculous. And what's worse is that humans have the ability to 'control' birthing, whereas animals don't have that where-with-all.

There are so many endangered species and some are already extinct. Human activity is the primary cause. Loss of habitat is caused by humans who keep building highways and shopping malls and more and more houses.
My daughter told me a few weeks ago that she heard that in the USA there are SIX houses available for every family in the USA. Old houses are abandoned and new neighborhoods are being built all over the place,
Here near me, there have been several new housing projects with dozens of new houses and most of them are sitting empty right now, but someone will eventually buy them and move in. It seems like people are never satisfied with what they have.

@IreneVincent That's just like there is only 1/3 of the Amazon Rain Forest left. We keep chopping down the trees and we won't have an supply of oxygen. We'll all be living in glass domes.

Circuses are fading out, I think. The trapeze artists are dwindling... The animals are being mistreated. The clowns scare some people. The workers who travel with the circus are sometimes a bad lot.

I went a few times as a kid... not a big fan... the clowns scared me silly lol... and then you hear all of the horror stories about the animals. Big thumbs up to the organizations that have the animals best interests at heart!

Yes, circuses have a bad reputation for mistreating elephants and big cats. It's so SAD.

I agree but to me a circus isn't a circus without animals. In Australia they've had to resort to training cows and alpacas which is okay but it's a bit sad it's had to go this way. And I wouldn't want it back like it was.

Isn't life in general a circus at times?
