Paypal is forcing me to change Password!

This is enraging me because I do not want to change my password. I do not go to any suspicious site to have my account in danger. I do not want to fix what is not broken. Paypal is now forcing me to add a number and a symbol on my password. I do not want to and I don't care if they think it is not secure. I do not want to change my 10 year old Password. It lasted for 10 years because I am happy with it. I do not like "secure" passwords like 9rt8943rh3fk#^ because they were hard to remember for someone like me who have ADD, Aspergers and a little bit of dyslexia.
Angry.. CATS! Meow meow meow?.. Meow meow meow?.. Meow meow meow?..Meow meow meow?.. Meow meow meow?..Meow meow meow?.. Meow meow meow?..Meow meow meow?.. Me...

I had to do that once. Many sites ask you to change it from time to time even if you weren't hacked. It's for security purposes because the hackers are getting better at scamming people.

It is not an email. it happened when I logged in. I have a new IP address due to telecom changes and that makes them think my account was hacked.

@CaptAlbertWhisker That does make sense now. I hope you get it sorted out quickly.

I just logged in as I haven't in a while . . . it didn't ask me to change anything (I don't have symbols or numbers on it either). I am told it's good to change up passwords every now and then anyway . . . but I know it's annoying to keep track of different passwords especially if they are changed.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I have it written down and hidden in a safe place. I don't put any passwords on the computer just in case.

@much2say I now wrote in a paper and mount it to my fridge with magnets.

I have no choice but to change and I am still angry. I made a notepad file and typed my new password there because it is hard to remember. Not only they want me to have different cases of letters, they want me to add symbols and numbers.

My change of ip adddress gives them the assumption I am getting hacked. I just hope they wont force me to connect my account to a phone.

It is for security reasons for sure but it does put me out of my comfort zone because I have to remember it.

I agree! I hate stuff like that! They need to let us pick our own passwords the way we like them!

Whether they think it is secure or not, It is none of their business. I am not that stupid to get hacked.

It will happen if you have a vacation and decided to log in with a public wifi or cyber cafe. In my case I have a new Ip address.

@meowch Be prepared to something like this the moment you have a new IP. I was thinking they do this randomly to members.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I'm thinking of getting a new router and that means new IP address. There is always something new about PayPal. I guess I shouldn't be surprised down the road.

Don't go to any other site to change the password because then your account WILL be in danger. Go to your Paypal account and sign in, and only if Paypal tells you to change your password you should do it then. When I have to choose a password with a capital, a number and a symbol. I will use familiar peoples' names and their birthday with a special symbol between them. For example Tom#1937 or House#0112(my address). That makes it easy to remember.
