I have never left China. But I've traveled to several cities in China.Like Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, I have been to.At that time, I was a person to go.First of all, before I go to those places to buy a map.Mark on the map where I need to go to the tourist attractions. Then I go to play in accordance with the plan route.Don't worry, traveling alone, is also very high happy things.

As awful as it sounds, I don't really know how to read the map. That's something that weren't taught in school and were not considered a necessity until, I got interested in travelling.

Yes' I've done it on more occassions when I was in my mid-twenties :). What I would suggest you would be to get a Hostelling International card. They have great locations, usually within walking distance from the main touristic attractions of their cities. And given that you travel alone it's better to share a room with other backpackers than to pay a single room in a hotel.
And you needn't worry about theft, hostels have lockers (usually metal ones) in which you can safely store your belongings.

@EMbakes You're welcome! I'd add that traveling is a truly enriching experience! If you travel with someone, you will get to have a closer bond with that person, but apart for that you tend not to interact that much with the alterity. But if you travel alone, you will get in touch with the world at large, you will be experiencing more of the cultures of the locals or of fellow backpackers. I'd say it is an experience from which I got a different overview of the world, so for me it was a definite gain.

@LuciCJ You're so vocal with your experiences! :) I'm happy for you. You're so lucky that you were able to travel on your own.
Like the movie "Eat. Pray. Love.," she was able to know more herself and her worth because the experience that she had while travelling moulded her to becoming a much better person.

I don't like the idea of traveling alone. Never did. Now with all of the violence that's occurring I really don't like it! I live in Texas. In a very recent news report, a father and son from Texas, vacationing in a foreign country, became victims of a terrorist attack. Were I younger I might still have the travel bug. But at my age, I only travel by way of the Internet and television.
