While going through all the lovely postcards of late and watching a very hilarious episode of Benidorm which is a British sitcom set in the beautiful Spanish resort of Benidorm, a thought came to mind.
Its like getting news of everyone's holidays - the postcard sending thing is!!
"Benidorm is a seaside resort on the eastern coast of Spain, part of the Valencia region’s famed Costa Blanca. A tiny fishing village till the 1960s, it’s now a popular Mediterranean holiday destination known for its nightlife. Its 2 wide sandy beaches, Levante Beach and Poniente Beach, are backed by palm-lined promenades, bars and rows of skyscrapers."
After reading about the REAL place I totally understand the attraction to any and all of the Brits. Its a quick HOP on a plane and a LAND on the beach with SUNSHINE!
In this specific episode the holiday makers are attempting a Quiz which has a reward at the end. My family love to take those Quizzes on holiday's and sometimes we split up and make it a competition within a competition - this guarantee's one of the family are bound to win.
Normally a bottle of wine or a lovely free family dinner is on offer, but what makes it totally worth the while is the FUN with everyone's random answers to the questions:
One of the questions in the show today was:
WHO SAID " I Have Nothing To Declare Except My Genius" . . . ?
to which the random answers came from the groups:
Gandhi
Albert Einstein
Freddy Mercury
Oscar Wilde
Margaret Thatcher
Now you can decide who said that line and see how clever at quizzes you are!
Great fun for the family - fun in the sun.
did you know "Like the other Balearic Islands of Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera, the island Malloroca is an extremely popular holiday destination, particularly for tourists from Germany and the United Kingdom. The international airport, Palma de Mallorca Airport, is one of the busiest in Spain; it was used by 23.1 million passengers in 2014"
My 5th postcard is another one from a Spanish resort called Mallaroca or also called Majorca. Barry sent me two - one with a very unimpressive postal sticky PAID stamp and this one with a magnificent, REAL Spanish, value added stamp! ( @Asylum Barry there was a huge PINK ink stamp on the back to say it cannot be delivered - yet it was . . . strange thing . . . but who knows why?)

I visited Benidorm the first time when I was 16 and then several times after I was married. Every times it changes and becomes bigger. Is still a very nice place, but I miss the original village. The answer to the random question: Oscar Wilde.

Benidorm is an hilarious programme and very funny. Who would ever want to stay in such a place. Many Brits go go there and it is a wonderful long stay destination for older people in the winter months it is warmish and so nice. As for Majorca I am heading that way in October to start my med/atlantic/caribbean cruise!

I went to Benidorm back in the early 1970s and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, it has changed far too much since. I travelled back to Alicante airport from Albir and stopped at Benidorm for a few hours, which was more than enough for me.
There was no point in writing "Cannot be delivered" on your postcard because most mail camels are illiterate.
