I cannot stand someone who lies, and wastes someone's time for absolutely no reason. This person said they would be bringing their little one at 8am. By the time 9am came I text & called to see if they were still coming. No answer...at all. There is nothing that annoys me more than being lied to and getting up early-for NO reason!
I even told the guy last night-PLEASE let me know if anything changes because I don't want to be waiting around for no reason. He said we are definitely coming!
My husband and I stayed up late to get the house straightened up and then I got up early...for nothing. That is just really rude and annoying. Unfortunately, this sometimes comes with childcare...

@LovingMyBabies Seriously? He hasn't left any sort of message or apology? So rude that people pull that stuff . . . yah, it'd get on my nerve for sure too!

had they come to you previously or are they new people?
you should charge them part of the fee really but I suppose that may have an impact on business.

@Mike197602 It was new people. If I never hear from them again and don't know where they live or anything it's hard to charge a fee. They usually just go to the next sitter and keep doing it to people.

@Mike197602 I am going to post on my babysitting page about them because I don't want it to happen to anyone else. I will look into the online booking system, thank you.

@LovingMyBabies you could maybe post them on that sitters site you go on...then when they can't get child care they may change their rude ways.
Maybe not now but in the future you could look at getting your own site and online booking system where people have to pay a small deposit...it's not that expensive to do.

I'm sorry you got stood up and had to wake up early for nothing. I hate when that happens and hopefully this guy has a good excuse of why he ignored you and didn't answer. Hopefully you can get a nap in later today.

He should have let you know about the fact that he will not be coming.I am surprised he had not phoned and apologized and let you know why he was unable to keep his appointment.

This is very inconsiderate of that person. He know that you would be waiting. Why not send you a text to let you know that he isn't coming. Some people are just rude and think only of themselves.

@Happy2BeMe Yes it was. I cannot stand when people do this, it's so unfair to me. Yeah, all I wanted was for him to let me know either way!

@LovingMyBabies and that is not too much to ask. There are always people like that around. They wouldn't like if somebody did that to them.

Maybe they got up late. Ghee go figure. You stay up late to get ready and then they sleep late. I'd be so mad if I found they did.

@BelleStarr I doubt I will ever hear from them again. If I do though I won't respond-I have no desire to take on a client like that.

You are not wrong to feel annoyed. This is highly irresponsible on the part of the parents; if there were any last minute changes even to their plans, they should have made it known to you. I have gone through this a couple of times and god knows how frustrating it feels!

@LovingMyBabies Do not let yourself get bitter over this. People who have not the slightest courtsey or manners do not deserve even your anger.

There is no excuse for that. I mean it would be one thing if he had a legitimate excuse, it is quite another to blow someone off with no reason.

People can be very inconsiderate of other people's schedules.
Where I work, in a doctor's clinic, there are procedures that entail preparing things in advance. Only for these patients not to turn up. Despite the reminders to inform us of cancellations, they just decide not to turn up. Which is a total waste of time.

@Theresaaiza Yes they can. I am sure at a doctor's office there are plenty of people who just don't show up when their supposed to-which is also rude.
