The "Caw" of the Crow... The "Crow" of the Rooster.

They say that roosters crow at first light, announcing the new day. I get up at the crack of dawn and never hear a rooster crowing, even though there is a farm somewhere near by. Apparently the rooster is a late sleeper because I hear him crowing off and on at odd hours throughout the day. One day a solitary crow sat alone in the trees near my house. He would "caw" and the rooster would answer. One day I listened to them playing their version of "Marco Polo" for about an hour. Do you own a rooster? Do they "crow" at fist light?

Yes, we have a rooster in our coop and he is very punctual in welcoming the first light of the morning.

I used to have chickens and roosters. The roosters would start crowing right before the sun came up.
