We're on holiday!

Hello from Croatia. I'm on holiday for a week with my partner. We're staying on the island of Krk, which is the largest of the islands in the Kvarner region in northern Croatia. It's our first time on this particular island though we've been to Croatia many times before. In fact, most Slovenians spend their summer holiday in Croatia, the countries are neighbours after all. The aim of this holiday is almost total relaxation. It's our first 'proper' holiday since we left the UK and moved to Slovenia in June 2015. Since then we've been working flat out starting a business so we're really pleased to have a week where we have nowhere to go and nobody to see. I couldn't be completely lazy, though; I'm not the sort of person to lie on a beach or by the pool all day long. Today we took a bus back to the mainland, to Rijeka, which is the third largest city in Croatia. It's a bustling and vibrant seaport with lots of history and an obvious Italian influence - understandable as the city was once part of Italy. It was a great day but quite exhausting - I'm ready for a peaceful evening.
