Note 7 hazards... a local company still keeping a potentially hazardous product on sale

Probably you have all seen the breaking news about the latest Samsung Note 7, with its battery allegedly presenting a major fire hazard while charging. While only a small number of units are expected to be faulty, Samsung has been concerned about its customers' safety and ordered a major recall. So from what I read, not only will customers be getting a new phone, but the Note 7 isn't available for sale anymore. However, in Romania a company which claims to have all new phones the quickest on the market (I won't be giving out its name to avoid any possible legal backlashes) still keeps it available for ordering on its website. This doesn't have anything with Samsung's policy, as oftentimes the retailer sells phones imported from the gray market, which haven't been due for Romania. For instance, this retailer had in their offer the Note 5 or Blackberry Priv, both of which haven't been officially released for the Romanian market. Do you think it is OK to have grey market imports, with the possible advantage of a lower price and getting in possession of a new product quicker, or would you play it safe and stick to products officially sold in your country? What is worse - how can you tell apart a grey market phone from an official release? After you have it, it's easy - you may write its IMEI to tech support, but by then you may be in possession of a unit which wasn't due for your market and therefore may lose some or all of your warranty rights or certain software updates.

Yes the battery issue seems to be having a lot trouble .. and it's not safe.. I am guessing this will affect future sales of samsung note phones.

Well, it's certain that sales will be affected, but it is better that Samsung decided to react promptly before any accidents risked to unfold. This is why I find it abominable that a local company, who sells phones imported from untrusted sources, continues to sell them unabated. If the manufacturer cannot vouch for the safety of its own products and chose to recall them, then how can the retailer keep them on sale?
