Coworker and I were walking one time when we met a tall white guy wearing a black shirt with Kanji characters printed on it. I was looking at the guy's blue eyes but coworker noticed the Japanese words written on his shirt. Soon enough she was laughing hysterically that I had to cover my face in embarrassment. Later, much later, she told me that the kanji characters printed on the cool guy's shirt literally mean 'cold guy'. That's why she was very happy. lol

Yes cold means entirely different from cool when you are referring to traits and personality.

@sol_cee oh, I didn't see the cornflakes .. and looking at that photo again, I'm thinking, why didn't they use a larger bowl?.. I would make a mess ..

It's been noted over here that sometimes tattoos we get here which we think are cool and written in Japanese, or other language, sometimes don't really mean what we think they mean;).

It is interesting to know about the meaning of the words. Nowadays it seems that it is a kind of culture, I mean, shirt culture or fashion culture, with some special words printed on it to show its uniqueness. Some of the words are really funny.
