1962 – Dickey Lee recorded the song “Patches”. The song was banned on some U.S. radio stations since it dealt with teen suicide. However it did climb up the charts and stayed on the charts for eleven weeks.
1973 – The Allman Brothers came out with their only number one album “Brothers and Sisters”.
That same year Marvin Gaye has his second number one hit with “Let’s Get It On”.
1976 – The disco band Wild Cherry had a number one single with “Play That Funky Music”.
