Every place in the world is unique, l will give you 2 reasons why l feel Switzerland is unique.
1-We have 4 national languages and everyone speaks minimum 2 of the national languages.
2-From any part of Switzerland, you can cross borders to two countries and still make it back home the same day.
You can check the youtube video for 10 more things about Switzerland you did not know
Tell me something about your country, what`S there worth knowing that people do not know?

I think the United States is much bigger than Europeans even imagine. Some states are so big you can drive all day and still be in the same state. Also it is very different depending on what part of the country you visit, we have desserts, jungles, forest, glaciers and much more.

@miniam That is true for many of them but I love visiting Europe in particular for the deep history.

I knew the US was big but not how big until I came to mylot and did a bit of research.
There are more than 10 US states that are bigger than the UK....Alaska is more than 7 times the area of the UK and Texas is nearly 3 times bigger.

I speak German,my French is terrible,my Italian is not better either, im a very shy person and im always worried of trying a "foreign" language and fooling myself.
When l go to the French side of Switzerland, i insist on talking in German, they can answer me in French if they wish.
I rarely go to the Italian side but when l do, it`S the same thing.
I have a problem combining/continuing sentences.Even english, l feel confident writing, but speaking face to face, l feel very uncomfortable and try not to

@miniam My county is 99 percent white and a small percentage of a percent 'other' so you won't hear much if any Spanish around here.

I live in a capitol city and can drive less that an hour to mountains or rural areas. I live in the north end of the city and am surrounded by the Owyhee mountains, Rockies and the Sawtooths.

It is also a very expensive country!
I think Switzerland has to keep the compulsory military service scheme forever since it shares border with so many countries.
Over here in Singapore, we have compulsory military service too.
Personally I think the military service has lowered the standard.
The young men do not become more responsible after serving for 2 years in the army.
Many of them are still having attitude problem after they have gotten a job.

I wonder what make people think Switzerland is so expensive,if you`re living here, you find ways to live within your means.
What is really expensive are the docs and health insurance, apartments, public transport and food.

First, I want to say that I think Switzerland is one of the most beautiful countries I've visited.
The USA has so much to offer in its arts, foods, medicine, and fashion. Besides that, it is geographically huge and diverse, with a wonderful history and melting pot of people, cultures, customs, and traditions.

It`s interesting when foreign people say Switzerland is beautiful,l feel that if you see the same things every day, you appreciate them less.
But whenever l go away for vacation,I'm always reminded what a beauty we have here and I'm always glad to get back home.
Having said that,we do not have loads of customs and traditions as you do over there,

A bit controversial but GB had the biggest empire in history....at its height it controlled nearly a quarter of the world.
On a less controversial note, for a small county we've invented a lot of stuff
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Engineers during World War Two test a model of a model of a Halifax bomber in a wind tunnel, an invention that dates back to 1871 The following is a list and timeline of innovations as well

well apparently as the link says I am from India.
As it is a matter of public knowledge i need not mention India is the largest democracy in the world and one of the most diverse nation on the grounds of terrain, languages, religions, ethnicity, customs, rituals well u name it..
Speaking of languages reminds me we got 28 Scheduled languages and hundreds of regional dialects some of them are getting extinct unfortunately
Another thing which i love about my nation is the freedom it provides and how liberal it is needless to mention the unity we possess even after such vivid diversity..

@miniam exactly, the heat is one of the biggest concern for most of the Europeans. But the monuments illustrating the glorious history and the cuisine are worth even single extra Fahrenheit.
And the people too, ask Martina Hingis if u don't believe me

That is so interesting! Something about Australia... well, many would probably immediately think of New Zealand (to the East) or Indonesia (to the North) as closest countries to Australia. But it's actually a little-known country of Papua New Guinea that is Australia's closest neighbor. It's less than 4km away from Australia soil at its nearest point.
