Maybe you would want to be at ODesk , where they have data entry and virtual assistants ' job . You are from the US so you have the major chance amongst the applicants .

On weekends and weeknights, I work from home. I get my hourly project from Upwork. You can check the site. They have projects on data entry and virtual assistance.

Not sure what we can mention here, but there are groups that answer for flower orders and other such things online. Maybe look for 'inbound' calls from home groups?

I use Mturk.com to do data entry jobs. It only pays like 5 cents a HIT but I do it while I'm watching tv or when I don't have anything better to do. I've made a couple hundred there in the past couple weeks.

Though I work from home yet in India we still struggle to get work as a freelancer. You can't run yourself or your family through freelancing.
