Our vacation....

We left for our vacation last Wednesday. As soon as we arrived at our destination we set up our campsite. This campground is one of our favorites. The people running it are very easy going and all the campers are so friendly. The campsites are quite large and very private. My grand daughter wanted to go visit her cousin so we dropped her off there and she spent the night with them.
The following day it was pouring rain. It rained hard all day. It wasn't a nice day at all. We went to visit my sister and she asked us to stay the night at her house that night since it was so cold and damp. It was nice to sleep in a warm, dry bed instead of a wet, cool tent. We visited two of my sister that day. It was nice to spend some quality time with them. It doesn't happen often enough. We caught up on all the latest and what was going on in our families.
Friday we headed back up to the campground. It was sunny that day but a bit windy. We spent the day at the pool and in the playground. There was always
lots to do. There are so many great trails to walk. We had an awesome meal on the bbq. That evening we had a campfire and toasted some marshmallows. The night was really chilly though. It dropped down to 6C (42F) so we had to all snuggle to keep warm. I was thankful for the new sleeping bag I recently bought. It did keep me warm.
When we got up in the morning it was still a bit chilly so we lit another fire and cooked our breakfast over the campfire. We had eggs, bacon, toast and beans. It was really good. Breakfast always seems to taste do much better over an open fire. It didn't take long to warm up. We went into town for a bit and did some shopping and then we came back and headed to the pool. We spent a good part of the day in there. The water was really warm but the air was still a bit cool. We didn't let it ruin our fun. That evening we had another campfire. There was a band playing in the park so we had awesome entertainment until about 11pm. We stayed up until midnight or a little after. My grand daughter went to bed earlier. She was tired from a day of swimming. She is quite the little fish. She sure can swim. She loves the water. It wasn't quite as cool that night but it was still chillier then normal for this time of year.
The next morning we got up and had breakfast then my niece came and picked up
our grand daughter and took her to hang out with her daughter for the day and night. So my finance and I had the day to ourselves. We went and spent some
time at the beach then my sister and her husband came over to the campground for a visit which was nice. The night it was nice and mild. We sat up and talked
and listened to music until 2:30 am which was nice.
The next morning we packed everything up and went to pick up our grand daughter. We visited with my niece for a while and then we hit the road. It was a nice, relaxing vacation. Just what I needed. My grand daughter had so much fun she slept most of the way home.
Of course now that we are back home and back to work the temperature are above average for this time of year and are suppose to stay that way all week. This week would have been perfect for tenting.

@ria1606roy I think we are pretty much done camping for the season. The weather is starting to get too cool now to sleep in a tent.

It certainly was. My grand daughter said it was her best vacation ever. That made me feel good.

I don't know how much longer I will be able to do it either. Every year gets a little more difficult but I will enjoy it while I can.

@Happy2BeMe - L_B - Your photo says that the campsite is a good one, as is the photograph itself. Did you ever think that your return to "civilization" once again was also a real vacation? After all you are quitting one place (vacating it) for the next place from which you had earlier quit to get to the place where you vacated again to get back to the first place from which you had vacated to get to the vacation place where you could again vacate... Hey !!!!! I am getting dizzy here from all of this vacating. -Gus-

@Happy2BeMe - L_B - Well, I am glad that what I wrote made sense to you, for it comes on like just so much nonsense to me - (just like it was supposed to do) -Gus-

@Happy2BeMe Wow... you have so many experiences. Aren't you? I also love listening to the squirrels chirping. And I like to listen owl's "HMM HMM..." sound.

Well we had no choice but to listen to the music. It was a live band and with the speakers you could hear them all over the park. The other nights we had the radio playing but we sat around and listened to the sounds of nature as well. I love listening to the squirrels chirping it is so sweet. They seem to talk back and forth to each other.

@unnybird we don't have too many owls around here but there are lots of other birds to watch and listen to. I really like watching the Bald Eagles. They are amazing birds.
