The Day Gus Rushed to the Hospital - Good Morning to all of you MyLotters who, like me, got out of bed today, had some breakfast, and who now (sooner or later) are getting on with stuff. I thought that I would put in a "discussion" (really a post) that is a whole lot like so many of the others we see around this place, like "I woke up, combed my curly hair, fed the kids and the dogs and the cats, had some stuff to eat, turned on the television for the news show, and got onto the MyLot thingie on the Internet." Then, being Gus as I am, the decision was made to cause this discussion deal to be more out of the ordinary; that is, more exciting to read than are the usual "I got out of bed..." types of discussions. Yes. We see way too many of those, don't we? So I thought I would tell you about the day, not all that long ago, that I had to rush to the hospital. (You don't see all that many posts about rushing to hospitals, do you?) Oh boy, excitement. Before it was all done with, I came close to being really, really out of breath. Now, that is enough to scare the pants off of a brass statue, isn't it? But I made it. I ran in through the Emergency Room door. That, of course, almost scared the pants off of the doctors and the nurses there. (They are more used to people being wheeled in on top of those gurney things, pushed along by the ambulance EMTs.) But I made it. Not one minute too soon, either. I was due to start my work shift at 3:00 pm, and the clock was just then ticking at 2:59. Phew... It is no fun to have to rush to the hospital, let me tell you. * * * * * * * * * * Image source: Pixabay dot com * * * * * * * * * *

@rebelann - Thanks for the funny video link. Much appreciated. Well now, it is a bit difficult for me to imagine a statue, let us say, of George Washington without his pants. THAT would be most interesting. -Gus-

Loved the story and I'm guessing that you work in a hospital. What do you do at the hospital, besides make people laugh? I do see a lot of discussions that are more like Facebook updates on day to day doings. I'm glad that you weren't late for your shift, unless your a brain surgeon and you should have already been scrubbed up and walking through the doors of the operating room, then it sounds like you were late.

@beaniefanatic13 - Friend of mine and Friend of those beanies, too - Happy to learn that you enjoyed my little story here. Did I work in the hospital? Yes, and for more years than would fill a bedpan, too. I worked in X-Ray, mostly doing portable filming throughout the big place and even across the way in the nursing home-retirement village run by the hospital. Lots of work in the Emergency Room(s) and over in the Heart and Vascular Institute. Had a great boss who actually hired me when I was 70-years-old. Serious stuff, but a really fun job. -Gus-

This is the first post I have read from you so you had me really going there for awhile. LOL! Glad you made it to work on time and I hope you didn't run over anyone getting there!

@Ceerios Thank you very much, I am honored! I have to put the gold star on the wall, though, because there is nothing to attach it to over my computer chair. i will display it proudly, though!

@peavey - I had already made note of the fact that, prior to right now, you had been absent from my posts. I have now removed you from my "missing persons listing" - so you can breathe easy henceforth. You have been moved over to my "geriatric specialists listing" which is similar in importance to the USA's "most favored nations listing." I am truly honored by your rapt attention to these important postings. (You may place one of those gold stars on the wall over your computer chair.) - -Gus-

@peavey - Be careful now. Remain on the floor when you stick the star up on the wall, for we old folks should not get up onto rickety chairs, stools, or the like. That gold star won't do you much good if you break your neck... -Gus-

Why does a brass statue need pants? As much use as an ashtray on a motorbike... Good story!

@pgnwo - Friend PGN - The next time you pass by a brass statue, reach out and touch an upper leg. Right then you will understand why brass statues need pants, especially those statues that the folks believe to be really "cool" statues. -Gus-

@pgntwo - Friend PGN - No. To allow the sculptor and the foundry to charge a little bit more for the statue than for one without pants. -Gus-

@responsiveme - Friend ARM - Just now It seems to me that you are becoming addicted to solving Wuzzit Challenges while, at the same time, I am learning to have lots of fun in formulating them. Henceforth, there shall be a listing of possible solutions to the puzzles. Fun stuff - a bit of work messing up otherwise nice photographs, but fun to do. I do not know if you make your own photos, but to play this game of distorting them in some manner, you do not need to own a camera. You can grab up a likely photo from a source such as pixabay dot com, change it to suit yourself, and use the new image to offer up your own "Wuzzit Challenge." All you need is a photo and an easy-to-use photo editor. I like to use the FREE photo editor - the one called "GimPhoto" that you can download from "SourceForge.net." Give it a try. It is fun to do. -Gus-

@responsiveme - Friend ARM - Sure enough. In my yard there are many gardens and, consequently, in my gardens there are many paths. I have a rule about those paths and the behavior of those who tread upon them. The path walkers must have gladness. Good for ARM for following the garden path rules. -Gus-

@Happy2BeMe - L_B - Sure enough, a timely entry was a good thing to keep the boss lady smiling. AND I note from your profile here in the Mill Otter place that you like being a GrandMa. I would not enjoy being a GrandMa. One of a GrandMa's frequent duties is forever lowering the potty lids left up by those grandsons. Hard work. Hard work. -Gus-

@Hatley - Ms Patsie - Actually, those caregivers are just worried that someone as spry and as feisty as you might just up and take over their own jobs... -Gus-

@Hatley - Ms Patsie - It is a fact that recovering from some of my postings DEPENDS upon the use of "Depends." Yes. There is nothing quite like having to rush to the hospital so as to prevent becoming a "shiftless" person. -Gus-

@jaboUK - Ms Janet - I suppose that it a bad habit of mine - to worry folks the way I tend to do. I, myself, am like "Alfred E. Neuman" (ex- of Mad Magazine fame). His famous expression is like my usual expression - "What? Me Worry?" -Gus-

@JamesHxstatic - Right-on, Brother James. Those docs and nurses in the emergency room would not have liked for me to be late to work, either, for I used to bring everyone lots of barbecue brisket and sausages almost every day. -Gus-

@JamesHxstatic - Brother James - Well, yes they were nice to me for the most part. There was one old crone of a night nurse who used to ask me if I washed my hands before making the barbecue stuff. I was never certain if she were kidding or not because I never did see her smile - not ever. -Gus-

You scared me and had me going for a minute. Yes, it was an exciting post Gus. I thought you were ill and rushed yourself to the hospital. So, do you volunteer at the hospital still or did you?
