Helping a Friend With Coupons

A friend of mine was in need of some groceries until Saturday. She always see's my couponing posts on social media and wrote me asking if I could help her. She said she literally only has $10 until Saturday. Of course I get excited about helping people coupon and her and her daughter needed the help. We went to the "expensive" store in town as everyone calls it. It actually has the best deals but people over look them.
So for just under $10 we scored:
a box of pancake mix,
a box of cereal,
a box of boil in a bag rice,
a box of 16ct corn dogs,
3 boxes of poptarts,
one jar of ragu pasta sauce,
a box of noodles and
lastly an apple juice!
I was also able to give her a few eggs from my chickens and that will defiantly hold them over until she has money to go grocery shopping. It was a pretty nice basket for under $10 of the things she wanted in her household.

We don't have much for actual food banks around here. Every so often the churches and a small group formed on Facebook do food handout's. I think an actual food bank would really benefit my town. I like to donate as much as I can but usually the stuff I buy just goes to my house or close friends and family.
