Does Intimacy leads to conflicts?

The more we are close to someone , the more we people start expecting from that person which sometimes leads to conflicts.There can many other reasons as well, like if we don't like something and tell that then may be the other take it in a negative way, generation gap can also lead to conflict,lack of communication also can provoke a conflict. In my life usually there are conflicts between me and my mother where in usually I don't understand her point of view which is wrong. But then gradually I realize and the conflict gets resolved. What do you think? Have you ever experienced conflicts with people you have strong bonding with?
