It's funny when you look at the people who bargain for vegetables and when they go to mcdonalds and dominos they buy bread for price 10x the price of veggies. it goes to show you that people in this world will pay for poison and bargain for health .. I wonder why some bread baked in oven has to be pricing high whereas the organic food has to cost low?

They sure are crazy. They bully the poor vegetable sellers and yet willingly let themselves be skinned by the big corporations.

That is true . That's why i don't haggle anymore to the vendors , because they only get so much for selling their vegetables .

It's true! We never bargain in a restaurant but we try to get a better deal at a farmer's market.

that is true. a post on face book says that we must buy the vegetable products of an old woman in the side walk rather than those sold in supermarkets. these people who sell along the side walk need more money than the owners of a supermarket or grocery, and yet, many of us ignore these women

you have said some truth there - I always see it when children would rather have sweets that a meal as well.

I don't know where you live , but here in Australia , organic produce are expensive .. But I agree with you, people would go more for processed foods than for fresh fruits and veggies ..

@skysnap Yes, organic is very healthy and so much better for you but not everyone can afford it here.

Bargaining does not really happen too much around here. The price is the price.

yeah for some places that seems to be the case.

Organic produce is more costly here in the Philippines; but I agree many people likes to buy burgers, etc. than vegetables. They are not health-conscious.

Perhaps people feel shy if they bargain in restaurants, as if they are not able to afford being here.

no people think buying in big restaurants means its upper class status.

@skysnap I am also sating the same thing that bargaining at big stores can affect their status.

I thought about it before responding to the question raised. You know, when we go to the vegetable or meat market, we can bargain as the price is flexible, but when we go to a supermarket or Mcdonald's or KFC, we never bargain and we cannot bargain because the price is fixed already. If we bargain, we would be considered to be very Special people. Do you think that it could be so? Thanks for the discussion.

I think the point is we consider KFC, Mcdonalds as quality product over vegetable and something natural.
