Lucid dreaming

So, lately i've seen a lot of things about lucid dreaming, and i really wanted to see how it feels. But i also heard that you have to go through something called sleep paralysis, so i want to ask you if this is true, and how does it really feel?

Sleep paralysis is a horrible thing to go through.

I think lucid dreaming is hard :)
