multiple wives is illegal - most evangelical Mormons I meet are suited and tied and very slick in their approach like door to door salemen

@arthurchappell That's sound well. Perhaps we would forget the religion in the future.

I have known several Mornons. Their life styles were never any different from anyone else's here. In fact, I would not ever have known that they were members of the Church of Latter Day Saints if the fact that they go to that church had not come up by chance in the course of conversation.
What is your perception of the "traditional style" of Mormons? (Mormons are no longer allowed to have more than one wife, if that was what you were thinking!)

@owlwings The Church officially renounced the practice (after pressure from the Federal Government) in 1890. Up till then it had upheld it, believing it to be protected as a religious belief by the First Amendment.

I don't know a great deal about Mormons except that we all can identlfy them with their shirt and tie. They usually stand out because they don't look local. As to why? I don't know. Maybe they are missionaries who are visiting from other countries? And they usually sell books. I hope I don't sound stereotypical but....just saying

Mormons have a different religion and they beleive in more than one wife. But that is not allowed in the USA anymore.
