First please allow me to say that ours is a boarding high school. We teachers have to work from morning till after nine in the evening. During the day, it is normal classes, but from six thirty to nine in the evening, it is time for the students to review and preview their lessons in the classrooms with the teachers babysitting in the room.
In the evening, the students study by themselves and some teachers may take their laptop to the classroom to prepare their lessons on the computer.I am just one of them. It is good that the teachers make good use of the time to prepare their lessons while babysitting, but sad to say, our No. I boss thinks that a teacher might be playing with the computer. He even said that during the time babysitting the students in the evening, some teachers play with their mobile phones and computers. I don't think that it is fair for him to say so without having an investigation to figure out the truth.
Just now, when our Vice Headmaster saw me on the computer in the office, he told me not to bring my laptop to the classroom and said that our Boss said so. I explained to him that I was NOT playing with my laptop, but was preparing my lessons. He said that it IS not easy to persuade the Boss, who is in his late sixties.
Ok, I will not take it to the classroom any more, but sit there doing my lessons on the textbook and write teaching notes instead.
It is right to follow the boss' instructions.
I am wondering about your boss or manager who treats you guys.
Thanks for your time reading and responding to my discussion. Take care!

There is no other way out. He is the boss and we have to listen to him. Anyway I can do without my computer while babysitting. I will only use it during the hours in the office. I don't use it for other purposes during working hours, but for my lessons only so that I won't be blamed.

@williamjisir66 That sounds like a good idea. You can't be blamed for something you don't do.

I worked for a real jerk for the last 12 years of my full time employment. He even yelled at times and had a bad temper. We did not get along at all.

Hello James Higgins. Now I am only using the computer after work in the afternoon and in the evening. I do not use it during the day any more for I do not want to be seen using it again. I feel discouraged a lot for this.

This is a long working time. I think the teachers also need to have a break. As you not only work for 8 hours. This is why I think it is reasonable that the teachers will use the computer at night. Even if they play the laptop, it is not a big deal. As long as the students still think that their teachers are hard working, it is good enough.

Yes, sometimes we have to discipline the students when they do not behave like chatting in class. It can be distractive. I can do a lot of things if the studens are nice and quiet, but not when they are talkative. Some talkative ones cause trouble to us and we need to tell to them to be quiet and go on studying.

That's just not fair, my mom uses the computer all the time for her lesson plans before.

Yeah, it is much easier to prepare lessons with the computer, but the bad thing about it is that computers are not encouraged to take into the classrooms. It is ok for me and I have decided not to use it again for my lessons while staying in the classroom. Thank you, friend.

Now I do not take my computer to the classroom any more, but in the office only during working hours. Thank you for your understanding.

I can understand your frustration with your boss, but it would be easy to play a game or visit Facebook while the kids study.. You sound like a really good teacher who cares about your students, it too bad your boss is treating you and the others like children....
