Laws are changing by time

September 12, 2016 1:36am CST
While Mylotting I kept on checking my kiddos in the other room. I instructed them to take a nap and when they woke up we will go the mall. But to my great dismay, the next time I noticed theyre already running and playing outside. Then I told my Pop "Oh these kids are really stubborn, I told them to take a nap and they didnt!" My father's only answer "Aw dont force them if they dont like!" and I was like " Oh.. so the afternoon nap rule in the household is already obsolete?" But why when I was a kid I had to obey the afternoon nap policy so I will grow taller. And I didnt even reach 5Ft.???? Credit to the owner of the pic.

That is just grandparents for you lol I think it is good for a child to have a nap but I would not keep arguing with them to do so. They know when they are tired and they will sleep. To try to make them lay down for a nap when they are not even tired usually doesn't go so well.

Like adults, sometimes kids are just not tired enough for a nap.

I agree. They rather play with their tablet than take a nap.

@happytobehereagain I was lucky that tablets weren't invented when my boys were little. If so, I would have taken it away and made strict rules for using them.

Kids outgrew the nap stage really young and I hope you did not go to the mall.

As we age, we find out what is really important. They might not nap now, but they will when they are older.

I don't have kids. But my mother and my uncle both say my grandmother was very lax with me than she was with them.

You are so right, it seems that the rules are changing. My Mom was very strict with me, but she is not at all with my niece.

Law makers of the household are also becoming soft by time.
