No place like home....

It is one thing to see Japan on YouTube and be in awe of its beautiful gardens..and streets and pagodas (at one time I badly wanted to be a Buddhist).
It is another thing to live there...
I have read and heard and watched so much about the US...that I don't feel I have never been there...
But every once in a while when I think of moving out of country ...disgusted with whatever is around...even for a brief period, a sense of loneliness engulfs me and creates panic.
Yeah...home is where the heart is, and my heart is inextricably linked to my country........
Much as I love you all my friends, this is where I belong...
So do you feel comfortable at the thought of leaving your home not knowing whether you will return to it or not?

East of West, home is the best. I do not feel like going away to any other place, I feel comfortable at home.

Apni mitti apni mitti hai...pani ki halki si bochar mein jo khushboo aati hai na...woh unke desh mein nahin hai...believe me. Our soil is our soil, when a light drizzle falls on it, releasing the scent of rain...that kind of scent is not there in their country. And many happy returns of the day...you are virgoan...I know...hugs.

That depends on the extent of home.... I stay away most of the year, from my actual home... which is exclusively my home. LOL
But when you talk about country... I don't think I am going to leave it ever. My heart lies here.
By the way, my mom and sisters are enjoying in UK these days. And I wonder how they would feel once back, about the 'spectacles' we Indians make of our surroundings...

@hora_fugit .. That is sweet and makes me happy and optimistic...I knew I struck gold but thanks to DE for bringing the focus back, and thanks to that nutcase for helping me take decision on this faster and bringing out your maturity too. LOL. Weird when he said ..no I am not thinking about you... when I was already toying with that thought. lol

@vandana7 yes my father had issue on amsterdam airport for "khakra" :D
I think you have spent a lot of time among indians, you'd not stand without indian routine outside. I am guess even your foreign trip would be limited to sightseing and then back to home :P

You know I still miss very much the Philippines. Though my family and I have been living in Canada for 25 years, I still long to go back.

I had a thought before I moved out of my home city, it would be easier to settle where I move but even after three years of living apart.I couldn't adjust myself there comfortably. And later I got back.

I am perfectly happy with where I live and have no desire to move anywhere else. This is my home. Where I was born and raised and where I plan to spend the rest of my life. Sure there are always lots of beautiful places to visit but I would never want to move to any of them. Some people don't mind moving but I like where I am.

Exactly. We do not know when or how we accept whatever is there in our surroundings, even when we know it is not something good. Once acceptance is there fear of unknown in another place scares us. Can we? Will we? What if we can't? Inertia...Japan is beautiful...:)

@vandana7 Yes I agree completely. When you are use to one culture and the way things are it is hard to adjust to somewhere new.

I do not feel comfortable leaving home and in fact I do feel home sickness and do not leave home for many days. I do like spending time in home and it is fun spending time at home. I have not been to much places, but do like going once in a while to other places.

Hello, Earth people I am back for a while anyway. I guess the Mother Earth is a nice home and sweet people here make everything good. I am surprised more people are not rushing to Mars...there is plenty of cheese there! It is hidden behind the fifth dimension. So, let us go across the universe and then come back home!
