I never had this trouble before. Come on. Why is paypal asking me for photo id, proof of address, and my ss number to activate it? That's sensitive information that shouldn't be sent over the Internet because a lot of dishonest people will commit ID theft. Never had to do this when I had the grey card form them. grrr.

This sounds like a scam. Never give anyone your SS number. I don't remember PayPal asking for that. I would contact PayPal directly.

they never asked me that till I got this card.. I had the grey card now I have the blue card.

Maybe some One else is using it , or it can be fraud cuz I have PayPal never got asked that

when I went to activate it and did all the numbers etc.. it came up with this box that said that I need to send my ID social bills over the internet to them so they can verify it.

@hillhjill I know they ask for bank information but it's been years since I set up my account. The SS number does make sense as they do send out 1099s. You could always contact them and ask about it.

@irishidid that is what I was thinking also it is just weird that they would be asking for things like that.

I never had to do that when I had an account with them in the past. Guess things change and not for the greater good.

Yea I know when I had the grey card they never asked me for info like that.
