The straps of my sandals snapped just after two wears..

I would understand the straps snapping if they were cheap or been worn out, but just after two wears is unacceptable! I didn't even wear the sandals for long, max about a hour - because they need some breaking into. I was on my way out to the car and my right foot slid. I looked down, tah-dah the straps snapped. I have several pairs of sandals from the brand and never experienced any problems as each sandal is handmade and made of leather! I just got back to the mall and was able to return the sandals without any problems! I would have gotten the same sandals again because I like them, but they didn't have my size so I bought some other pairs of sandals and a pair of sneakers too! Have you ever snapped your sandals? Luckily, the sandals snapped in front of my house so I was able to go in and get a different pair to wear.

You're lucky, they accepted it even if you have already used it.

Yes, it was from a large department store.

@magallon They had a policy if you're not satisfied you can make a return. The store has a special unique label they put on their products when you purchase, so you can return it at any time.

@infatuatedbby Maybe , you still have the receipt that's why they accepted it.

I have never had it happen but I would definitely have returned him like you did. That is totally unacceptable after such a short time. It does happen though. There was probably a flaw in the manufacturing of them.

I once experienced sandals falling apart, but only because it was old and was for the garden. It was time, but never a pair of sandals that I just bought! I am glad they didn't give me a hard time returning.

@infatuatedbby That is good because some stores do. They sound like a good company to deal with.

@infatuatedbby They do it here too. Most of the time, even the saleslady or man remembers you.

@marguicha Yes, the sales man remembered me. He listed me as his client because he helps me and I buy a lot from him when he works. They get commission.

@hereandthere That is good you were nearby to buying a new pair and not having to walk barefoot to the nearest mall, shop.

That was an unpleasant experience, but I'm glad that you got your replacement sandals :). What I'm assuming is that they may have been out on the shelf, possibly in a hot and dry area for very long. This dries up leather, which becomes brittle and may tear up like cardboard. The shoes may have never been worn, however they won't last for too long. It happened to me to leave some shoes unworn for years, which seems to have been quite a bad idea, as they literally eroded when I took them out.

It could be they were in the warehouse / stock room for a long time. It was from summer 2016 collection but they probably received the pairs early 2016, and now it's end of the year it's going for sale.

Nope not yet. These days I don't wear sandals as i'm always in my business attire. When i go to the beach, I just wear havaianas slippers or crocs sandals. What brand of sandal was that? Would like to know so i could avoid buying that too.

I am in sandals quite often, if not sneakers. The sandals were Jack Rogers.

These are supposed to be durable but I don't know.. I had my phase with Rainbows but now I'm in all sorts of sandals.

I hope the new pair lasts a little longer. I hate taking things back so I would have been really ticked.

I got a different brand since they didn't have my size. I don't like taking things back like this for the inconvenience too.
