My 6 years old child is so interested in math. While I was doing mylotting a while ago, Lian called me up so I can help her to solve some math computations. She is in grade 1 and so the most she can do are simple addition and subtraction. I wrote some problems for additions and subtraction. I told her to get her counting sticks and solve the problem: 5 addition and 5 subtraction. She got all the answer. I was amazed because she solved it. I know it was just a simple math but this is her first step to a more complicated one. Tomorrow is multiplication and the next days will be division. The next will be fraction, percentage and even hard equation. Love it.

That is wonderful and you are doing the best thing to help her! My older son loved math so much that when he was in nursery school, he was multiplying in his head. In third grade, he won a math contest and came in first place over the fifth and sixth graders. I still use my fingers, so I know he got his talent from his dad!

Ha ha, yeah I believe math is talent. I just love seeing her so interested in my unlike her siblings that they don't want even to memorize the multiplication table, I was in high school and I'm still memorizing the multiplication table.

This is amazing because kids hate math. So if your child is taking interest from the beginning only , it's awesome.

I too love maths. During school time I was good at it & due to complexity of maths at engineering level I became average at it. Still I like it.
