After lunch, I started with a splitting headache. I tried not to mind about it, but I couldn´t. Normally, I take a nap and it goes away. So that´s what I did for maybe 3 hours. I woke up the same way So now, I am drinking a melissa infusion and took a naproxene with it. It is finally going away. But I´m still blurry eyed and my bed is calling me again. What do you do for a headache?

If it doesn't go away on its own I will.eventually take a.couple of paracetamol. I try to avoid triggers for headaches, such as, in my case, eating 3 portions of cheese within a 24-hour period!

Naproxen helps me a lot with all sorts of aches. I have arthritis so it also helps there.

@marlina Actually a migraine. I've had some really bad ones in the past so I'm a bit more careful now.

I don't have headaches anymore. I just get migraines and they are terrible. When I get one I am sensitive to everything especially bright lights and smells. I am nausea the entire time and sometimes I even end up throwing up. I have tried several different medications for it and none of them work so far. I have to sit in a quiet, dark, cold room and just try and sleep it off. Sometimes the sleep makes it worse though. I just have to it out sometimes.

When I get a headache I take Excedrin because I never know when it will turn into a migraine and my migraines get awful. Like I get sensitive to lights and get super nauseous and my eye feels like it is ready to pop

I usually take two liquid gel Avil and lay down in a dark quiet room. I find the Advil works fast. There are days though that the headache is more stubborn then others and harder to get rid of. I find if I wake up in the morning with a headache I just can't seem to get rid of it until I go to bed that night. I hope you get some relief soon.

I lived with headaches for years. There are various options. Because I'm taking a prescription NSAID daily, when I get a headache, I have to be careful. However, since Tylenol does nothing for me, in fact, it might make stuff worse, I have to resort to another NSAID. In this case, aspirin. My doctor knows I do this, because he's followed me on my pain trip for years now. However, if this headache looks to be a migraine, which I've also had since I was a tweenie, I resort to Imitrex, or the generic sumatriptan. Because the pills have corn in them, I have to use either the injectables or nasal spray. The spray tastes really bad, but it works.

A headache is usually brought on by the restriction of blood flow through the veins in the head @marguicha . Applying a hot, wet compress to the specific area will open the veins and allow for better blood flow.

Could that be caused by stress?

It depends on the headache, I get migraines a lot, and what my doctor thinks are lupus headaches, I actually have a prescription for Sumaprtitan, which is a headache medication, I was offered to get in injection form instead so it was quick acting when I got my headaches. But most of the time nothing helps my headaches.

Oh oh! Sorry to hear that. The headache do create lots of problems. One cannot concentrate till it fades away. Whenever I have headache I try the homemade receipe of ginger. I crush the ginger and make a paste. Then I apply on forehead and tie a band and leave it to dry. For a while there is a burning sensation and once the ginger dries up the headache goes off.

I massage my forehead, temples and the pressure point between my eyes and nose bridge, back of the neck with efficacent oil then I take a nap. I also feel if the head ache is coming from an acidic stomach so I drink just a little powdered milk mixed with hot water and no sugar and the same I take a nap.

If the headache is really bad, I take 1 or 2 Tylenol extra strong, not allowed to take anything else because of other prescription pills.
