Do you READ mystery stories or watch them on TV? One of my favorite TV shows, which now are just reruns is “Murder She Wrote” with Angela Lansbury. She is a fantastic actress. I was just thinking about how old she might be. I guess I could google her. I will. But, I remember when I saw her in a movie when I lived in Okinawa, Japan. The name of the movie was “The Manchurian Candidate.” That was way back in 1962 or 1963. Maybe 55 years ago. But, I saw her recently on a TV program. She’s definitely still around. Anyway, I would like to WRITE a mystery novel, but how in the world could I come up with a PLOT that has never been used before? I don’t think that would be very easy. I do have one in mind, however, which would be based on a TRUE story. Something that happened in a small town where I used to live. That might work for me. I’ll have to think about it.

Mystery novels and shows are my favourite. I absolutely LOVE "Murder she wrote". Honestly I'd said it's my favourite show. Or at least one of them. I am trying to write a mystery novel/story. We'll see how that goes.

@IreneVincent Yeah I know how you feel. The one I'm writing probably isn't new, but all the same. I don't know what I'll write when I'm done with this one.

@dodo19 A writer would have to make sure that the plot of the story was, if not new, at least , different characters would have to be involved. An unusual setting maybe or a different era, maybe. I've really thought about it and have some things in mind but not sure how to begin.

I always wanted to write a mystery story also, but coming up with a NEW plot that no one has used before isn't easy.

I love mystery novels and Angela Lansbury, too. I've seen her series when I was a kid and I remember her as the voice of Mrs. Potts in the other Beauty & the Beast movie.

I would certainly LIKE to write a mystery story, and I have a good plot, I think, based on a TRUE story, so I might just do it.

I love mystery...it really oils my brain cells...i even play these games that we get nowadays on our phones? the ones where there is this whole story and you have to figure things out to escape? I always go to them when i need to make myself think a little more..intellectually. Hope your novel pans out.

I didn't know there were mystery games on phones, but I'm technologically challenged most of the time and have to get my grandson to show me how things work.
