Vitamins C and B are water soluble.
That means the vitamins gets dissolved in water, and when you go to the toilet to urinate, you lose the vitamins.
If you feel tried after climbing a flight of stairs, that is likely due to the lack of Vitamin B complex.
Just take the supplements every day since they are cheap.

I used to take vitamins to prevent asthma on attacking me.

If you're eating healthy there's no need especially the synthetic ones as they would damage your kidney.
