It's Raining

Normally that wouldn't be newsworthy, but as we head into our second summer of drought conditions and fairly harsh water restrictions, it's definitely something to celebrate. I hope this isn't a one off event but is a sign of better things to come.
The animation is one I created when rain was more frequent here. I haven't tried uploading gif files here before, so I hope it works.

We are nearing the end of our rainy season.

@responsiveme I don't like excess rain either, but we really need a lot to fill the dams. It's just the beginning of our rainy season so I hope this summer will be wetter than the last one was.

It is typhoon season here in the Philippines so we are expecting 2-4 typhoons every month until the end of the year.

@allen0187 Unfortunately there seems to be weather that causes problems in most places. I'm sure that we've done a lot of it to ourselves by careless living too.

It works very well! We had a little much needed rain overnight (since I had my car washed) and I am hoping for more.

@Gina145 We did end up getting a fair amount over a couple of days. 60 miles north of here, where my wife was at a conference, there was a lot of rain with unusual lightning and thunder.

@JamesHxstatic I'm glad you got a fair amount. We didn't get anywhere near enough. Lightning and thunder are usually common around here and can do quite a lot of damage, but we haven't had any worthy of mention yet this spring.

@thelme55 I hope you get some rain too. I'm afraid what we're getting isn't enough, but I suppose anything is better than nothing.
The gif was made using 3 photos. I can't remember exactly how I did it because I haven't used that program since I got my current computer over 2 years ago. I really should reinstall the program and try again.

We had drought conditions also. Now we have had a lot of rain and maybe more is coming again. The rain was needed, as this area was on water restrictions.

This summer has been wetter than the last one was but the dams still aren't as full they should be, so we've still got water restrictions. I'm glad it's better where you live @Fishmomma .
