Do you get more TV channels than you actually watch? My roommate wants all of these bizarre channels. We have a package that is about 250 channels, Of these we maybe watch 10 or 15. I am going to try to get a cafe package because Dish offers that now. What about you? Do you have too many channels?

Yes we do. We also have Dish and I want to take a look at that new deal, too. I would go ahead and go off satellite or cable entirely, but I live with my 96 year old mother. It's too hard for her to get used to something different. It was hard enough for her to find her way around Dish.

If I had unlimited cable I would have a streaming deal for sure. I hate having to be dependent on these satellite providers.

We have Directv and we have a small package, but there are still way more channels than we watch.

It's hard to strike the right balance.

@snowy22315 I wish we could just choose the channels we want and only pay for those.

Nope, we refuse to get cable, dish or direct. Too much money for too little value. I am happier without any of it.

Cable is losing money for that. People want to pick and choose, and while they can choose packages, they can't do what others are able to do. On cable, the most expensive channel is ESPN. Half of the customers don't watch it, but they are paying for it anyway.
I think the fringe channel I watch the most is the DYI channel. But I also watch the most expensive channel, ESPN.

I could probably live without ESPN, Not sure what the pick and pay channels are offering though.

I think with my current cable package I have 116 channels give or take. Perhaps, I watch regularly 20-25 channels. I think 250 channels is too much. At 116 channels, it ain't that much compared to the 250 channels that your roommate wants.

Yeah, we used to have a different package that he was fine with, I don't know how it got boosted up. However, I am not paying for all these channels, so it doesn't really come out of my pocket.

@snowy22315 well, you have added channels at no added cost. Sounds like a win to me!
Go ahead and enjoy the new channels then!

Right now I use my laptop to watch programs . I will see about what I can find next month. I like to watch Christian tv online. But I am learning about what not watch since some of the programs may not be based on Godly values.
I want to be sure my faith in Jesus Christ remains my number one priority since he is returning soon.
Would you please tell me about the Café package that's offered by Dish? I don't need the 2250 channels.
God bless you.
Betty
