My shirt has TWO holes! What would you do? Toss it out, patch it up, donate time?

My purple shirt today had two holes on the side! They're both smaller than a cm, but I have no clue how they got there. The shirt is relatively new.. I have only worn it a handful of times. What would you do if you found some holes in your shirt? I don't mind the holes especially since my capris jeans had holes today too so people might thought that was the style I was going with? How about you? I just won't wear the shirt somewhere that isn't presentable, but for running errands or what not - sure why not!

I don't know... If you still like it, perhaps just wear it around the house or something... During winter, I often wear multiple layer of clothes - I have one shirt that I like so much but doesn't look too nice anymore from years and years of wearing and washing... I often wear it inside my sweater of jacket so it's not really seen...

It isn't noticeable because my purse blocked the holes anyway but underneath a jacket of course no one will see it! I have a favorite sleepwear that I have that isn't the prettiest due to wear/washing, but I still keep it. I have a hard time parting with favorite clothing articles. :)

if you really like it what someone else thinks about you when they see the holes shouldn't bother you, after all distressed is in

@tandia OH yes, I don't mind what others think I am curious what others do? And you are correct! Distressed is the new style. But - my mom says she rather buy her clothes not distressed, then when its distressed she can sell it! AKA she makes fun of my clothes

Hmm. United States. Perhaps you could start a new fashion trend. Wear it confidently, and you'll soon notice other women in your neighborhood wearing t-shirts with 8 mm holes in them. Did I mention that the whole "wearing your baseball hat backward thing" was started by me in the 1980s? Now I wear my hat forward. But you never know when you might start a "thing."

I've seen some wear very ripped clothing! Or wrinkled clothes. Sometimes my shirt isn't supposed to be wrinkly and my mom goes who cares it's the style to rush me! Haha Then again when it comes to my jeans already ripped she said that's a waste of money- she goes I will buy non ripped jeans, over time they will rip then that's when I will sell them? Baseball hats yes turned around but I prefer forward now!

It depends on how much you like this shirt. If you don't like it so much, you can donate it. If you like it, perhas you can sew a nice patch or just let it be. You can just wear it inside the coat and nobody will find out the holes on the shirt

Its very minor, not so big or noticeable it's on the side. But over a coat/jacket for sure no one would notice.

If you have jeans and Capri with holes, keep it to pair with them.

If I liked the shirt I would maybe wear it around the house and on vacation or when going to play a sports game, etc. I might wear it under a sweater when the weather was cooler.

@infatuatedbby How about sewing some decoration on the holes, like a flower, then it will look deliberate and the holes will not be seen?

@1hopefulman It is on the side of my shirt - no biggie. I don't mind :) Just curious about others thoughts.

When my clothes get holes, this is the process they go through: 1. Repair by stitching up the holes. 2. If the holes can't be repaired, then maybe use the item as 'pambahay'. This means, wear it in the privacy of my own home since it will be quite embarassing wearing them in public... unless you're trying to start a trend as someone else here has suggested. 3. If the damage is too much that the item can't be worn even at home, cut it up and turn it into rags.

I don't think I will stitch up, its not bad and can be as a the trend. If it ultimately can't, I will wear it at home and lastly that is a good idea to turn into rags!

Sure, wear it with you holey pants and people will think you are making a statement. But if it were mine I might embroidery over the small holes, because I don't wear holey pants.

@infatuatedbby Holey pants are a fashion I will never understand. I see them in stores with those big holes in them and they are expensive..

you could paint petals around them so that they look like the centers of flowers. It will look as if you have made the holes intentionally.

That is a good idea too bad I don't know how to paint well. Crafty tip though!

It would depend on the holes, and the article of clothing. sometimes my husband likes to sew my clothes to get rid of the hole.
