If It Weren't For Bad Luck, We'd Have No Luck At All

This past week has been one that I definitely don't want to repeat. With everything happening I have come as close to 'throwing in the towel' as I have ever been. Between my medications all costing more than I can afford because insurance is now paying a lower portion and everything else I am feeling beaten down. Our huge tree branch that came crashing down on the fence and corner of our deck is gone now but the tree itself is still there. Saturday the person who was supposed to take the rest of the tree down and cart it away was here with his people for an hour and a half. During that time they cut down some of the branches with leaves and such but left the very top. They decided that they want more than the $1000.00 that he said was his price. He had wanted the money up front but we gave him $200.00. Now we are looking around for someone to finish the job without having to pay an arm and a leg. Wish us luck. What a week. So how are you doing?

OH man, I definitely wish you luck in finding someone else. That's ridiculous. Why do things always have to come all at once. . .I'm so sorry.

@CinnamonGrl I guess they do tend to happen at once. I wonder if I was a very bad girl and don't know it?

It's not serious that they are asking more. They are the professionals, they evaluated the cost and they should not raise the price.

I do hope that your luck turns around soon. It is not fair that you have so much to deal with. Things here are pretty good. I can't complain about anything. Hope this week is better for you.

@sofssu I guess we all have a bad week every now and then. I am ok. All the stress plus not being able to get one of my very expensive medications has set my recovery bad a tad. But, I am pushing the problems aside today and trying to get back on track. Thanks for asking.

Sorry that you had such a bad week, but it is all "money" things, don't forget that. NOT life threatening stuff. We had some trees taken down in August and the cost was over $2,000.00 and we are not entirely satisfied either. Good luck for having a better week.

@marlina the only threatening thing is the problem paying the overly high price for medication. I am back to being positive and counting my blessings. Thanks

Take down a tree, especially a really big one, costs a small fortune. We were lucky at our last home, we had thirteen trees removed some were so tall we couldn't see the top - the man across the road was a logger for many year so he did it all for free - for the wood. The people who bought the house from us had to have three taken down a year ago - they paid thru the nose to get it done. That saying fits all of us - we all say (at one time or another) w/o bad luck we'd have no luck at all. It gets better - life is a roller coaster.

@AbbyGreenhill it does cost a lot to get a tree down. We are working on getting someone to complete the job. Life does tend to be a little bad and a little good.
