Cats on the Tube

Clapham Common Cats

It is not just the internet, until next Monday Clapham Common Tube Station has been taken over by cats. Arriving at the station you see the normal advertising posters, but as you exit the station you pass posters of cats in the corridors, posters of cats as you ride the escalator and more cats on the ticket gates. This is all part of a public art project from a little known group called Glimpse, but calling themselves CATS or Citizens Advertising Takeover Service and all paid for through crowd funding. The posters have become an attraction. To the bewilderment of station staff, people have been turning up and taking pictures as well as local and international TV and press. Of course, I visited, and took pictures, purely in the spirit of informing the world. Dog fans need not worry as there are plans for a canine station takeover.

@Ronrybs I wonder if cats are more popular than dogs.

As far as I can tell, they haven't started a crowd funding appeal for the dog project

@LadyDuck Depends which report on the subject you would like to believe. Personally, I think moggies are just ahead of dogs, with so many of us living in flats without gardens

As fond of cats as I am, I don't think I'd have them on the walls, although they do sometimes climb the curtains!

@bwjsdems My cats used to hiss at them, but weren't that keen on getting close

@Ronrybs Morpheus, my cat, would most probably try and fight with them and Sylf my smaller one would hide!

It is a pretty straight forward idea, but no one else managed to get it done. I like it
