Last night I was feeling a bit down and depress with all the bad news going on in the world so I was kind of only watching the Emmy awards halfheartedly, if you know what I mean. Until near the end, that is, when they gave the award for Best Actress in a Drama Series. Tatiana Maslany has been giving such an amazing performance for four years now on Orphan Black where she plays at least 8 different characters. She's so good it's easy to literally forget it's the same person in all the roles. She didn't even get nominated the first two seasons, which really made her many devoted fans super upset to the point of almost "breaking" Twitter, then she finally got nominated last year but didn't win and now this year she's finally gotten her due. If you haven't watched this show I really recommend it. It's on BBC-America.

I agree. She definitely deserved an Emmy. She did a great job, and yes, she made you care about every role she played. She is a great actor.

I think we've all seen various actors and actresses playing identical twins and sometimes there would be subtle differences between them but in this show each character is unique with different styles, accents, mannerisms, everything. To make it even harder for Tatiana, in the scenes where she's appearing with herself she's actually playing off nothing when she's filming her various parts in each scene.

@anniepa Yes! To do so, so competently, with so many characters, was really quite a feat. Twins is one thing, but Eight separate rolls is just.. crazy. She really carried it off.
She made you like them or dislike them as well. That's another trait of a quality actor.
