Off to the Dentist

I know how much people miss each other here when we aren't seen, so I thought I would let you all know I will be leaving soon for another trip to Milwaukee to the dentist. It's another follow-up regarding my dentures. I'm going to let him know they make a good ornament for my mouth, but eating not so much. I've heard a lot of people say how much they enjoy or don't enjoy their dentures because they either fit perfect and they can eat all the foods they used to before they lost their teeth, or the fit is terrible. Well mine is an in-between problem. My teeth fit just fine, however, I can't eat with them. As soon as I bit down on anything, out comes my partial. And if I'm having a sandwich, the bread sticks like glue to the upper plate and it too becomes loose and I'm eating once again without teeth. I don't want a happy medium. I want to be able to bit into a peach, as I did this past week, and know my teeth will stay put. I want to buy steaks again and know I'll be able to eat one without any problem. So we'll see what will happen today when I go. I leave here in about a half hour and will be gone even longer today. I'm assuming I'm traveling with another person as my appointment isn't until 1:30 and that would mean a departure time around 11:30 not 10 AM. I do expect to be back here by 4 PM, but if the other person I'm traveling with is having extensive work done for whatever reason, it could be even longer. I'll know when I get back. So that's the plan for today. What are your plans for today? Thanks for reading.

Safe travels hope you are able to get them adjusted properly this time. My fiance has so many problems with this dentures. He can't eat with them at all. He has had them readjusted so many time with no luck. He is thinking he should just get a whole new set made.

I've been thinking the same thing lately. I know that won't happen though. I'm sure Medicaid would only authorize one set of dentures.

@Happy2BeMe I can understand that. I'm totally frustrated with mine too.

I had to be on the phone with student loan people. I hope you finally get your wish. It's got to be frustrating to not have the ability to eat what you want.

I think I'm going to give up on that idea. I'm still having nothing but trouble eating anything with them.

That sounds horrible. I always get Fixodent for my mom to keep hers nice and tight. I hope they can fix the issue.

I'm using Fixodent and I've used Polygrip. Noting is working for me. It's doubtful they can do anything more to help at this point. They're for looks only I think.

@just4him No matter how better the modern techniques are, nothing can replace our real teeth.

Good luck on your dental visit! Hope they are able to get everything fixed for you! I have a dentist appointment on Friday, but it is just for a routine cleaning.

I hope it went well and they didn't find any cavities they need to fill. I've given up on these dentures. They just aren't good to eat with.

Just done watching WWE's ppv, 'Clash of Champions' and some football games here and there. No definite plans except to interact as much as possible here in myLot today. Later in the afternoon, I'll be going to the gym to box and do some circuit training. That's about it. Hopefully, you get your dentures fixed. I need to visit the dentist as well to get my teeth cleaned and to get two teeth filled in.

@allen0187 Like all the other ones. My teeth just don't allow me to eat what I want, but I'm toughening up my gums to eat regular food.

This is like a nightmare. I go in October 4th for my first appointment to talk about get dentures. Sure hope you get some satisfaction. My daughter and grandson use the Medicaid transport. They go about a half an hour before their appointment and are back home so quickly. Only about an hour and a half all together for two people to see their different doctors.. Seems so quick.

That is quick. My appointment usually lasts about 10 minutes and then I'm back on the road again home unless there are more people going with, then it could take longer as it did this last time.

Not for me it seems. I think only screws would work and that isn't covered by Medicaid.

@Jessicalynnt I've had good dental coverage when I worked, however, I didn't need it back then. My teeth were loose enough I could bypass the dentist and just pull them myself pain free as they just slid right out. It's now that I need all the dental appointments, but I think those are even coming to an end as there is nothing more they can really do with these dentures.

Well I hope they can fix that problem. It would really stink to be eating a sandwich at a restaurant and have your bread stink to your teeth. Good luck

I think I've pretty much given up on eating out as it always happens. Going through drive through and eating at home is less embarrassing. It's doubtful at this point that the problem will ever be properly fixed.

Here in the Philippines, there is a dental paste that sticks the dentures firmly. I know you have them, does it have no effect to you?

My day is coming to an end and I plan on being here on mylot for a while before heading to bed. Might leave mylot early to do some homework. I really hope the dentist fixes the problem with your dentures. I went insane not being able to eat after wisdom tooth surgery so I can't imagine how you must feel having that problem that could be long term

I happened to have my six month cleaning today, but I only had to travel about fifteen minutes each way to get there and back. Our jobs were cancelled for the day since it rained and I got some cleaning in the house done too.
