What is the difference between love & in-love?

When you love someone, however much you care about them, you almost always come first. When you are in love, they become your first priority. "Love" can be passionate and all consuming while "in love". it is steady, deep and calming. It brings a sense of security "Love" is selfish and makes you want them with you because they make YOU feel good while "in love" is unselfish and you want them to be happy wherever they are or whoever they are with. You can walk away from "love" if necessary but you can't completely walk away from "in love" "Love" is a choice while "in love" is not. It just happens. Lastly, if you can't bear to live in a world where they don't exist even for a second then you are probably "in love" coz you can possibly move on from "love" With lots of love Love Guru: DJ

I also think you just kind of know. When you can't imagine your life without someone in it for a second your in love. If you would choose that person over anything else in the world you could have your in love. When that person is so beautiful with the flaws they have, your in love. It's this amazing feeling that your heart would tear in half at the thought of losing them. That person completes you in a way you never thought possible.

You are in love if you can't imagine life without them. Look ahead a few years and try to imagine them older - do you still like what you see? Take any little fault that they may have and magnify it tenfold - could you put up with it?

Well, love can have a bunch of definitions. Love of God. Love of self (in a good way). Love of your kids. Love of your Grandma. But in-love is a feeling. I'm OK with your Auntie's description. But it's easy to be fooled too. Especially when you're young (under 90 or so).

Well Love is quite a wide term.....you can love family, friends, some person you admire, some concept, some thing, even an idea. Being in-love is used more as a term one would use to acknowledge the ONE special person ... and i think your Aunt was right...you just know ...because it will not feel like hard-work to keep it going.

Loving someone means the other person makes you feel special or you think he or she will make your life special, at times you wish to runaway from something for eg. first you hate icecream and second you hate anything with chocolate flavour to the extreme, it means your hatred for chocolate flavour is more than any thing . Now If I say you have to choose between the two, 1 is Chocolate Cookies and 2 is Strawberry Icecream. You will choose Strawberry Ice cream to avoid Chocolate Cookies, You hate Iceream but Chocolate can make your life miserable so suddenly you will fell in love with Strawberry Ice cream. Big Car, Big House, Big Bank Account is a statement so you love some body is also a statement. Its more about you, you want to possess the other person for some psychological traits or for some reason. Its more like a transaction.
