I've never had it but I've heard from some people that contrary to what people expect, it doesn't hurt, so I hope yours will go smoothly. Good luck.

if it hurts too much, ask the dentist to numb the area....the dentist will give you a small injection...after which you wont feel anything.

It didnt hurt. Once anesthesia starts it's painless. Now I am happy.

@rahulkb Did they give you an injection in the gum? That's the bit that scares me so much.

I used to have those back in my schooling days, now I think i may get myself involved with tooth extraction as my teeth had become rotten.

I dont think its a good idea. Teeth are very imp. And as per my dentist, nothing can replace original.

The dentist will give you an anesthetic and it will save you from all pain. Today, I am taking a teenager girl of our foster home to a dentist for a tooth extraction.

I feel for you, I really do. I have the same sort of fear that you have and as a result have not visited a dentist since the mid 1970,s. I have had some really bad toothache over the last 40 years but I think I have been lucky as I don't think I have ever needed anything major like the treatment you will undergo. The fear has always stopped me going to the Dentist and I always considered myself quite rational but I guess I am not so rational after all. All I can say is this. Please be braver than me and get it sorted now. You will save yourself future pain. Please do let me know how you get on. My thoughts will be with you. Good luck.
